How to Write a Week of Social Media Posts With ChatGPT in 30 Minutes

Most small business owners write social posts one at a time, right before they need to publish — which is exhausting and inconsistent. This tutorial walks through batching a full week in one sitting.
Step 1: Build a one-time voice brief
Before asking for any posts, give the tool 3–5 examples of posts you've written that felt right, plus a short description of your audience and tone (e.g. "friendly, direct, a little funny, never corporate-sounding"). Save this brief — you'll reuse it every week.
Step 2: List your week's topics first
Don't ask for "5 social posts" blind. Spend five minutes listing what's actually happening this week — a promotion, a customer story, a behind-the-scenes moment, a tip, an FAQ answer. Feed these topics in, one line each.
Step 3: Generate in one batch, not one at a time
Paste your voice brief plus your topic list and ask for one post per topic, in your established voice, matched to the platform you're posting on (captions differ for Instagram vs LinkedIn vs X).
Step 4: Edit for specifics, not tone
The output will get your tone roughly right if your brief was good — your editing pass should focus on adding real specifics: actual numbers, a real customer name (with permission), a real detail from your week that makes the post unmistakably yours.
Step 5: Save the winning formula
Once a batch feels right, save that exact prompt structure as a template — next week becomes a 15-minute job instead of 30.
